When a Multi-Billion Dollar Company Offers Free Help

A surprising story about receiving genuine, free support from Elastic's engineering team while experimenting with their serverless product.

So, you get an email from a multi-billion-dollar company — and it's not spam, a scam, or a sneaky product offer. They're not updating terms of use or canceling your subscription. They're simply offering help, for free. Sounds like a joke, right? Except… it's not.

I recently set up a small private "lab" using the #Elasticsearch #serverless product to simulate message ingestion for a project. I was curious, but with limited resources and options — and, well, I failed.

A few days later, the email arrived. The support team had noticed my failing attempts, reached out, offering assistance. The call was scheduled for the next day. A few #Elastic engineers from around the world joined in and had rough hour solving my problem. In the end, they succeeded.
